A land of endless wonders, unspoiled by modern tourism and still retaining its authentic character – Georgia. Once experienced, it will stay with you forever. Exploring Georgia is a constant pleasure. For walkers and hikers the country is sheer heaven, while botanists and birdwatchers will be simply enthralled and archaeologists can't decide which of the numerous ancient findings to visit first. With the towering Caucasus Mountains forming the border between Europe and Asia, Georgia has long been an important contact zone – part of the Great silk Road. In this mystical land you will be captivated by a thrilling blend of eastern enigma and western elegance. The traditions of the East and West meet in Georgia to form a culture unlike any other in the world.

DAY 1: TBILISI
Departure for Tbilisi.
DAY 2: TBILISI
Today we will explore the capital of Georgia, Tbilisi. Wonder in the old districts of the city which are structured like terraces, as well as take a walk in the narrow streets to enjoy colorful houses, patterned balconies and wonderful samples of modern architecture. We will start the tour from Metekhi church (13th c) facing the

magnificent views of old Tbilisi. A stroll along the winding little streets takes us to the main sights of the city. Afterwards we enjoy the panoramic views of the whole town and through the ancient Narikala fortress (4th c), find ourselves in the historical domed sulphur bath area – connected with the name of our city. Finally, the Golden Fund of the historical museum will prove the fact that Georgia is truly the land of the Golden Fleece. Overnight in Tbilisi.
DAY 3: Tbilisi – David Gareja – Sighnaghi
Travel to David Gareja cave monastery (6th c) located in a stark, semi-desert area. We'll see Lavra caves where monks live and then take a walk up on a steep uphill for about 50 minutes to Udabno Monastery to enjoy its wonderful painted caves and dramatic views across to Azerbaijan. Then we travel to the beautiful little town of sighnaghi (18th c) enchanting with

its impressive old city-wall and tiny houses decorated by patterned balconies and tile roofs. We can enjoy the breathtaking views of the Great Caucasus Mountains and Alazani valley from sighnaghi. Overnight in sighnaghi.

DAY 4: Sighnaghi – Kvareli – Gremi – Tsinandali – Sighnaghi
Kakheti is famous for wine-making and it is associated with good wine and open- hearted hospitality. First we visit 300 year

old wine-cellar and taste Qvevri wine, made according to ancient traditional methods. Georgian peasants used to make wine with the same technique for many centuries. Qvevri wine-making is listed on UNEsCO Intangible heritage list. Then we continue to another winery to taste red and white wines made according to modern methods. For lunch we visit a local family in countryside and get a closer understanding of everyday life of local people, see their orchard and vineyard and later we'll be invited to home-made delicious lunch with Georgian wine and Chacha (Georgian firewater). Continue to Gremi Complex (16th c). After the tour we travel to Tsinandali to visit a palace and a wonderful garden of a Georgian duke.

Transfer to sighnaghi.
DAY 5: Sighnaghi – Mtskheta – Gudauri
Today we visit the ancient capital and religious center of Georgia – Mtskheta (3000 years

old) and see its historical places: ancient Jvari Monastery (6th c) and impressive svetitskhoveli Cathedral (11th c). Continue to the Great Caucasus along Georgian Military highway.

En route we visit the outstanding monument of Georgian architecture – Ananuri Complex famous for its carved facades. Travel to Gudauri following the serpentine road of Cross Pass.

Overnight in Gudauri ski resort (2200 m).
DAY 6: Gudauri – Kazbegi – Gudauri
Our morning starts with a stop at the mosaic built on a hilltop and offering the impressive views over the Great Caucasus Mountains. Next stop is at the highest point of the Cross Pass (2395m). We'll have a quick stop at auburn travertine taking the color from mineral water that contains much iron. Finally, we arrive in Kazbegi and enjoy the magnificent view to Mt. Kazbegi – 5047m. Take a walk to 14th century Gergeti Church (2170m) and admire the grandeur of the surrounding mountains. In the afternoon walk back to Kazbegi and visit a local master to learn more about Georgian Teka (felt) making secrets. After the tour transfer to Gudauri.
DAY 7: Gudauri – Uplistsikhe – Akhaltsikhe
Descending from the mountains we visit "Iago's winery" in Chardakhi village, where we taste unique Bio-wines made according to Georgian traditional methods. It's noteworthy that you can find "Chinuri" wine on unique wine-list of hotel "Ritz" in London. Continue to Gori – the town where J. stalin was born. We'll have a visit to

his house-museum. One more highlight still to be discovered today is ancient Uplistsikhe cave town (6th century BC) lying on the Great silk Road route. The ancient caravans transporting

silk from China to Europe used to stop here for overnights. The town consists of living quarters, Zoroastrian temples, market, pharmacy, wine- cellar and in its great days used to house 20 000 people. After the tour we travel to Akhaltsikhe for overnight.
DAY 8: Akhaltsikhe – Vardzia – Akhaltsikhe
Today's tour runs across the winding road in the lee of the Lesser Caucasus Mountains. Our first stop will be at Khertvisi fortress (10th c) built

on the confluence of two rivers. Continue to the magnificent cave town – Vardzia (12th c). It stretches over half a kilometer along the river

Mtkvari and has 19 tiers. There used to be about 3000 caves (50000 people could live there). It has a church hewn out in rock with amazing 12th century frescos. The complex also includes dwellings quarters, small hall-type churches, refectories,

wine cellars and pharmacy. We'll walk out the site through a long tunnel and feel the heartbeat of the cave town. After the tour we return to Akhaltsikhe and and visit renovated Rabath hilltop castle.

DAY 9: Akhaltsikhe – Kutaisi

DAY 10: Kutaisi – Zugdidi – Mestia
In the morning visit a royal palace of Dadiani family (local dukes, 19th c). The museum collection includes private belongings of the family as well as ethnographic collection of the area. Most exciting part of our tour is still to come! We take a tour to Upper svaneti province – UNEsCO World heritage site. We'll have a few photo stops and arrive in Mestia. The real gem is history museum that we shouldn't miss. Overnight in Mestia.
DAY 11: Mestia – Ushguli – Mestia
A 4WD tour to the remote village of Ushguli is truly unforgettable experience. We'll pass indigenous villages and arrive in Ushguli located on 2200m. We take a walk in the village to take a glance at local houses and towers and continue our walk towards Lamaria church overlooking the village. From Lamaria we'll enjoy the breathtaking view to Mt. shkhara – the highest of Georgia, 5068m. After the tour we return to Mestia.
DAY 12: Mestia – Batumi
We leave the mountains today and drive to maritime town of Batumi. here we'll visit Botanical Gardens with rare plants of different continents and ancient Gonio Fortress (1st century AD). While strolling in the streets of Batumi, we'll see the most beautiful square

of Georgia – Piazza, charming its visitors with stained-glass and architecture. We'll also see the statue of Medea and astrological clock on Era square and at the end take a walk in

Batumi Boulevard which is the favorite spot of the guests of Batumi with its modern sculptures, fountains and cafes.
DAY 13: Batumi – Tbilisi
Transfer to Tbilisi and free time. Overnight in Tbilisi.
DAY 14: Tbilisi
